BERTONE Guilio Popular flautist in Italy at the end of the l9th century. The flute he is holding is of French design and is probably the work of Louis Lot (q.v.). It also appears to be of the open hole system.

GASPARRI Silvio Principal flute under Martucci and Toscannini in Italy and Europe. From 1922 he was flute Professor at the Conservatorio G.B. Martini in Bologna.
