LORENZO Leonardo de Born at Viggiano in Italy on the 29th of August 1875. He studied at the Naples Conservatoire and was appointed first flute in the Theatre Municipale in Alexandria in 1897, and three years later left to complete a seven-vear tour of Europe and South Africa. After this he was appointed first flute in the New York Philharmonic, Symphonic and the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestras. His compositions for flute include many studies chamber works and a method "L`Indespensable" in 1912, New York; also "My Complete Story of the Flute" New York, 1951.
